Chinese verse in English tongue
Is something that I loathe to try;

Rhyming words are laid to waste,
Idioms turned bland – de-Sinicized!

Expressions all but stripped of taste,
Replaced by words that make you cry.

East and West are worlds apart;
Where words alone cannot impart;

Alas, to do more than just get by,
Gotta ditch that foreign eye.
